Summer was...but a moment

Life is just a series of moments. No two alike, none to be repeated.

This summer I made an effort to live within each moment.

I wasn't always successful. Sometimes I thought too much about moments that had passed and moments yet to come.

This post was going to be about change; how much change our family experienced this summer. How our days now look oh so different from our days then. But of course the summer brought change. Seasons are all about change.

So instead my final summer post is about a moment. A late summer evening, the sun setting faster than the night before. Avery is practicing her spelling words, Aidan is playing hopscotch, I am knitting and nursing a beer brewed by my husband. He should be getting home any minute. We'll soon hear the click of his bike shoes across the garage floor. For now, all is quiet except for my favorite CD (at the moment) playing - Beatles songs played on the cello.

summer was...a moment

I took a quick picture to capture the moment. It was a moment like no other, never to occur again, but always to be remembered.

  1. So lovely.
Doesn't it sneak up on you sometimes, and surprise you a little, how life is happening RIGHT NOW?

  3. Nice.
It is one of my favorites to have the presence of mind to be fully in the moment, especially when they are moments as lovely as that.

Going to go check out that CD now, sounds amazing!!
    Have a great weekend :)

  4. That looks like a perfect wonderful moment! What type of beer did your husband brew? I am assuming it is a home brew. My husband brews beer for a living so never wants to brew anything at home.
