He's A Believer

"All my wishes came true! It's snowing!"

"I'm a popsicle."

"I'm going to pray that it snows forever and ever. Amen."

Aidan was ecstatic last night when it began to snow. Our elevation is about 1000 feet above sea level, so it is a rare treat to receive a white dusting. The minute snowflakes are spotted falling from the sky, we put on snow clothes over our pajamas, slip our bare feet into snow boots and run outside to play.

The only sign of last night's snow are these pictures and our fond memories of frolicking in the fluffy white flurries when we should have been fast asleep. If we are lucky, or Aidan's prayers are answered, snow will fall at least one more time this winter. I'll keep my fingers crossed and my snow boots by the door.

  3. How exciting!! Jack wanted snow so so bad, but of course it didn't snow here, I hope my lack of faith affected the weather.

  4. I'm wishing for a "snow day". Of course it won't happen where we live but it would be wonderful! Guess I'll just have to make up an imaginary one and spend the day in front of the fire with my knitting!

  7. Great snow pictures. We were equally excited, except I kept my jammies on and watched the TEN teenagers that ended up at my house out the window.

  8. Yes, it was very exciting! And I also kept my jammies on and watched from the window one 2 year old playing by himself and yelling from our back deck to your kids. It's too bad Grace and Cole slept through it. Maybe tonight....

  9. When I was a child growing up in Auburn...it snowed every year.
My dad would put plastic bags on over our shoes and the lower part of our pants...secure with a rubberband...(YEs, you read that right) then we would put on our red boots...(he called them our rubbers...how times have changed)...then we could play and play without our feet getting wet. Did not do much for the circulation but the feet were definately dry! heheh I have many pictures of Auburn buried in snow...oh the memories of fun!
