Gone Fishin'

My neighbor caught it, Aidan reeled it in, I took a picture, we watched it swim away.

I didn't intend to disappear from this space. I'm not really gone fishing. When friends ask me what we've been up to, I reply that we're in full-on summer mode. I actually don't know what that means, but I know how it feels. It feels like a lot of gardening, a lot of friends coming and going, a lot of cooking and cleaning, a lot of planning summer vacations, a lot of quieting noisy chickens, a lot of swimming, a lot of stealing fruit from neighbor's trees and vines (I'm confessing here), a lot of drawing and reading, but not a lot of time, and not a lot to write about.

Going through my media card I discovered quite a few pictures of colanders full of eggs, fruit, seeds, etc. I think I'll share them here this week. My life, in colanders. Sounds exciting, doesn't it? Such is my life. Full of stuff, full of holes. Just another dish needing to be cleaned.

I'll be back when I think of something to write about. Until then, enjoy the parade of colanders, and don't forget to gather as much summer as you can before it slips through the holes, even if you have to steal some summer from your neighbor's tree.
