He Made His Friend a Bench

Our neighbor, Jason, recently fixed our oven. The oven had been acting up for years, but like most things that act up in our house, we just ignored it. When it finally stopped working all together, and we were forced to light our gas burners with matches and bake in a toaster oven, George decided to take it apart and find out what the problem was.

The problem happened to be a piece that was no longer available for replacement; a piece that could be rebuilt for several hundred dollars if we shipped it to Texas. After further inspection, George reckoned it was a small fix that just required some soldering. He mentioned it to his friend Jason, who happens to be a technical whiz, and with a few little touches of his soldering iron, Jason fixed our oven. George put it back together. We celebrated. I baked a cake.

he made his friend a bench

And to properly say thank you, George made Jason a bench.

how cute is that?

How cute is that? These two men never fail to impress me with their generosity and know-how.

  19. Oh, what a great bench!
Perhaps I could put that on my summer to-do list. It would go great out by the fire or on the back deck... That looks like some pretty hefty wood, too! Sturdy, man bench!

  22. Hey Molly! You mentioned in your how to create a header post that you had messed around with your html to make the width of your blog wider. How would I go about doing that? Mine is really narrow and I would like to widen it up!
