June Showers Bring August Squash?

I was surprised to hear the sound of rain in the wee hours this morning. We've been swimming every day, running around in shorts, sleeping beneath the whirl of the ceiling fan, so the rain came as a pleasant surprise. It started to pour this evening, and my children promptly left the dinner table to put on their rain gear. There were puddles to be splashed in, and rain gutter waterfalls to divert with rubber boots. The sound of rain drops on the growing squash was music to my ears. Nature took care of my watering duties today. Another beautiful day in the foothills.
