This Bench

IMG_9499

I love this picture
of the bench we rescued
from the parking lot
behind a big box store.

We carried it home
in the trunk of our station wagon
when we still had
two babes
in two carseats.

It's peeling,
cracking,
creaking,
perfect.

This bench is one
of many found treasures
that make our house
a home.

  4. Pieces of furniture with a history (or in this case, "her story") behind them have so much more character to them, no?
It's probably better made than something you could buy in that big box store any day of the week!

  6. You cannot possibly have too many benches. The thought is impossible. I use them for coffee tables, inside and out. For plants to perch on. For books to stack on. I love your bench.

  7. Love the picture, and the words. Old and found objects are the best; they seem to bring with them all the love they've acquired over the years.
