If I Could Freeze Time

icicles!

Then the clock would be as frozen as the icicles hanging off our roof.

Icicles!!! I've never lived under a roof with icicles before! Here in the foothills of California, we see snow once maybe twice a year, and when it does fall, it rarely sticks for more than a few hours. But this snow has stuck around all week.

maple seed

We love it. Can't get enough of it. We're in and out of our snow gear from sun up til sun down.

front porch

Thank goodness for warm boots, wool socks, and hand-me-down snow gloves from our big cousins.

grandpa's old snow shovel

Thank goodness for grandpa's old snow shovel.

snow on the clothesline

Thank goodness for a gas dryer, because this clothesline is out of commission.

snow on the tracks

Thank goodness for snow. We will miss you when you're gone, but we're so glad you stayed so long.

snow on red berries

(And yes, I took many, many pictures of the snow.)

  8. BEAUTIFUL! Sure wish I could have come up this week. Boohoo! Just having a little pity party. Guess because it's been a tough week at work. Can't wait for the weekend and the rain, then I can sit in front of the fire and knit. Hooray. I feel better already!

  19. What bautiful pictures. We so rarely get snow around here, that I grab my camera and take way too many pictures also, sometimes. Great job. Love the red berries.

  21. So beautiful! And so much fun. Can you believe we had snow in Oakland, too? We even had a snowball fight and wandered around the neighborhood in amazement. I love the header photo--the way the snow is clinging to the wire and sitting on the top of the wood fence. I'll miss the Dr. Simmons, though.

  23. So hard to believe that you are just a few hours from us. I'm envious! We didn't even make it up the hill to see the snow here in Oakland that Susan mentioned!

Ah well, one of the things I love about blogging is getting to live vicariously through others. Especially when they take gorgeous photos like you do.
