What's Up Pumpkin Butt?

what's up pumpkin butt?

It's 5PM Friday evening. My kids have been gone all day at Grandma's making cookies. They just called to say they're staying for dinner. I'm hungry. I went into the kitchen to find a recipe for French Lentil Stew, but instead I found my recipe for Pumpkin Oat Pancakes, written on an index card by my daughter. I'm compelled to share.

Pumpkin Oat Pancakes

1 1/2 cups oat flour (I just grind rolled oats in my Cuisinart to make oat flour)
1 tablespoon flax seed (because it's healthy)
2 tablespoons brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 1/2 teaspoons pumpkin pie spice
1/2 cup pumpkin puree
2 tablespoons melted butter
2 eggs
milk to desired batter consistency

Mix ingredients. Cook on a hot, buttered griddle. Enjoy.

On a different note, I need some feedback. It's been quiet on this here blog all week because I've been quite busy making. Making lots of stuff. Acorn necklaces, dish drying mats, pincushions, and a few other projects I have yet to unveil. I'm thinking about selling a few of my handmade goods, but I'm having a case of cold feet. What do you think?

I'm going to pour a glass of red and think on it, and go look for that French Lentil Stew recipe again.

  3. Nothing ventured, nothing gaines as they say. Will you create an Etsy shop, or go the Christmas Crafts tables at Churches and Schools?

It's a funny economy, but don't let that stop you. There are people out there with money, but no time to create the lovely things you can. Just be sure you're happy with the exchange.

  19. First of all - the title and photo kicks some butt. Now, knit up some socks to take care of those cold feet and continue about making things to "share" with people - because even if you are selling them you are sharing with them on a very personal level and your readers would love to share in your creations with you.

As someone said - the economy is a shame but the holidays are around the corner and as long as it is enjoyable work then there isn't too much to lose right?

  29. I would love for you to offer up some lovely homemade items. I am particularly loving your acorn necklaces. I have thought of trying my hand at one, but then again, if you make them and decide to sell them, that would be easier yet.

I am, however, going to try my hand at the dish rack cloth for some folks.
