Fall Fell Too Fast

Avery informed me last night that we are smack dab in the middle of winter. Sure, it's been cold, a little drizzly, foggy in the morning, but we still have just over two weeks of fall. And what a beautiful fall it has been.

yellow and blue

We planted a purple blow maple tree about seven years ago, but its name is deceiving - this tree does not turn purple. No, it prefers shades of gold, pink, red, brown, and even keeps a few green leaves until the very end of it's cycle. That is just fine with me - I'm not really that into purple. The leaves are all but gone from our maple tree; I will miss the tree's dazzling fall display, which seems to get better, and definitely bigger, each year.

For those of you, like me, who are not quite ready to part with fall, I have an offer. I've a few acorn necklaces left, and encouraged by my friend Diane, I have decided to sell them. The necklaces are $8. Leave a comment with your email address if you are interested. I can get them out in the mail this week -plenty of time to find the way into some one's stocking (hint-hint).

Fall may be on it's way out, but we can still wear a reminder of fall's magic - even in the smack dab middle of winter.
