Inspiration Found

Perhaps you've noticed there hasn't been a lot of crafting going on here at the foothill home companion. To be quite honest, all my bike riding has seriously cut into my crafting time. Cycling makes me happy, but not crafting makes me sad, so I found a little creative time last week and came up with this:

my interpretation

A little applique and embroidery inspired by this:

what he drew

Aidan's drawing of his dream home. He told me he is going to find that tree and build the house next to it. Avery asked me why there are stairs going up to the tree instead of the house. I didn't have an answer for her at the time, but while stitching the stairs I thought perhaps up in the tree is where my little boy keeps his dreams. Inspiring indeed.

  5. Oh, that's wonderful, beautifully done Molly!
We have been doing quite a bit of embroidery here in the last week as well. Some with Samuel's drawings even.... I think we might have some sort of east coast/west coast parallel universe thing going on!

  6. Such a heartwarming post! Before I scrolled down to your son's drawing, I noted to myself how unique the tree was and then to see how your son had drawn it. Wonderful! I love how you explained the stairs to the tree :)

  9. Be still my heart! That is so wonderful. Gillen just started embroidering again this evening. I'll have to show this to him when he wakes up.
