Momma Said There'd Be Days Like This

What could be better than being awoken by rain in the middle of July?
My daughter, who hasn't wanted to cuddle for a few years, getting in bed with me to enjoy said rain.
What could be better than the neighbor calling to see if my kids wanted to come over and play for a few hours?
An incredible 3 hour of hike in the canyon with my dear friend.
What could be better than a hike in the canyon?
Driving down to the river for another hike and swimming in the river in our clothes. Ah, the glorious river.
What could be better than swimming in the river in my clothes?
Skinny dipping would have been nice, but it was broad daylight under the Foresthill Bridge. (Seriously, click here for some amazing views.)

What could be better than picking vegetables from my own garden?
Dicing those veggies and adding them to homemade chicken noodle soup. (I know, it's supposed to be a meatless summer, but when one's mother-in-law leaves a chicken carcass in the fridge, what's a girl to do? Enjoy every last boiled bone bite.)
What could be better than homemade chicken noodle soup?
My son inviting the neighbor over for dinner because his "mom makes really good soup".
What could be better than kissing your sweaty husband and licking the salt from your lips?
Finding out that he was a few minutes late because he stopped to help an older man with a flat tire.
What could be better than laying in the hammock instead of doing dishes?
Absolutely nothing. Days this good should be illegal.

Day's like this should be an everyday experiance! Who could argue with that?

  4. You were right about that bridge photo. Wonderful. Almost like being there, but without looking down.

    Great blog, supermom!
